Postcard from Abroad

Dear Global Education Office:

From the moment I stepped off the bus in Oxford's Gloucester Green station, I knew that I was in for a fantastic experience. The town buzzed with life as tourists, shoppers and scholars snaked their way through the narrow streets and alleyways. I could feel the rich, scholastic tradition as I walked about the different colleges, 38 in all.

The program laid out for us at New College gave us a sense of what England was about. On Wednesdays we had guest lectures from various scholars and on weekends we went on excursions to Avebury, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and London. I was studying Modern British History and it was the perfect setting to understand their culture and apply my insights.

My summer in England was all that I could have asked for in a study abroad experience. The Oxford tutorial system challenged me to take on new perspectives on my studies and I made great friends on the trip.
