Dear Global Education Office:
Bec in Firenze!
Ciao Duke! Arriving on campus each day at Villa La Pietra (behind me) never gets old and will definitely be something I miss when I leave. Florence is one of the prettiest cities I have ever been to and studying abroad here has not only challenged me to learn and grow more, but has also opened my mind to possibilities and opportunities all around the world. Performing in a play on campus and taking courses on family and gender roles during the Italian Renaissance, Fascist implications for Italy, money and banking with a European focus, and, of course, Italian have enhanced my time here as well as connected me to Florence in a deeper and more personal way. Studying abroad has also confirmed my interest in international business and cultures different from my own, which I hope will develop into a career that I love after I leave Duke. In the short time I have left here, I hope to experience more of Italian culture and life and eat a whole lot more gelato! Arrivederci!
