Financial Aid and Scholarships
Summer Financial Aid
Duke undergraduates who receive need-based financial aid during the academic year are eligible to apply for financial aid for up to two Duke summer study abroad programs (and/or summer sessions in Durham) offering either one or two courses of credit. This aid is offered in addition to the eight basic academic-year semesters of financial aid. Eligibility for aid will be determined in the same manner as academic-year aid. Note: this policy does not apply to a summer abroad program taken prior to matriculation or after graduation from Duke.
Financial Aid applications for Duke summer study abroad 2012 are available on-line. To apply for financial aid, students must have applied to the program. Submit completed financial aid applications to the Global Education Office, no later than 5 p.m., February 1.
Duke does not offer financial aid to non-Duke students. You are advised to consult with the Financial Aid Office at your home institution
Duke Summer Scholarships
Duke undergraduates currently receiving financial aid may apply for a Stephenson Pope Babcock Scholarship, which may be used for select Duke-administered summer programs only. The Babcock scholarship application is available as part of the on-line application. After the parental contribution, the Babcock Scholarship will replace the loan portion of the summer financial aid package. Seniors graduating in December 2011 or May 2012, or who have already fulfilled all of their graduation requirements at Duke prior to the start of the fall 2012 semester are not eligible, nor are students who have previously received Babcock awards. Submit completed scholarship applications to the Duke Global Education Office for Undergraduates, no later than February 1.
NOTE: INCOMPLETE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
