Admissions Requirements
Students are required to have had at least one year of Mandarin Chinese before beginning the Duke Study in China semester program.
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of their participation in the program.
Students are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Students are required to have a grade of B- or above in all Chinese language classes prior to entering the program.
An applicant must have a complete application to be considered for acceptance. A complete application includes two letters of reference (one from a Chinese instructor, and another from a non-language instructor), and an official transcript.
Because the Duke Study in China program is intensive, we look for applicants who are serious about learning Chinese and learning about China.
