Faculty for Fall 2011
W. Brent Haas will be the on-site program director for DSIC's Fall 2011 program. He has a doctorate in Modern Chinese History from the University of California-San Diego. His particular research interests include modern Chinese visual culture and the multiple meanings of frontiers in Chinese history.
He has previously worked with students on Chinese study abroad programs for the National Science Foundation. He looks forward to leading our students and teaching the two Chinese area studies courses for the program (Themes in Chinese Culture and History, and the Independent Directed Study on Contemporary China).
