Amanda Kelso
Amanda Toler Kelso has worked in the field of international higher education for two decades, both in the U.S. and abroad. She has a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish, and Ed.D. in higher education administration. As an undergraduate student, she spent her junior year studying at the Universidad de Sevilla, and later returned to live and work in Spain as resident director of a U.S.-based university program. Prior to coming to Duke, she taught university level Spanish for two years and served as director of an international residence hall. Kelso has held leadership positions in international education professional organizations at the state, regional, and national levels, and has been with the Duke University Global Education Office for Undergraduates since 1997. Her primary interests are study abroad program management, assessment, and marketing.
Primary Responsibilities: Advising for Spain, Africa, and the Americas; Program management for Duke in the Andes (Ecuador), Duke in Madrid, Duke/OTS in Costa Rica and South Africa (semester/summer), South Africa Direct, Global Semester Abroad China-India, Duke Semester in India, and Visiting International & Exchange Student Program; Web-site administration, communications, publications & advertising.
